History

The Heartland Homecoming Parade has been tradition in Elizabethtown for over 30 years. At its inception, the parade was the traditional kick off to the Kentucky Heartland Festival. During that time, the festival has made many changes over the years and in 2014 came to an end. However, the parade lives on. In 2015, the Heartland Parade committee branded the name Heartland Homecoming Parade because that’s what it is, a homecoming for the small, wonderful town of Elizabethtown. The Homecoming parade celebrates rich history, and begins in the heart of E-town, the Historic Downtown. Over 10,000 people line the streets to wave to over 130 parade entries and celebrate our homecoming each year!
